Woman Kidnapped & Raped For 5 Hours By 3 Men On Christmas

Three teenage boys kidnapped woman, 22, on Christmas, robbed her and raped her for five hours even after she vomited on them.

A young woman’s Christmas—and her life—was shattered Tuesday when she was kidnapped, raped, robbed and beaten in her own car by three teenagers over the course of five hours, according to police.

"You’ll get sick in the stomach," said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood, before reciting the facts of the case.

Around 11:40 p.m. Christmas night, the 22-year-old victim was in her Jeep Cherokee, waiting for her boyfriend to come out of a nearby bar, when three men—one of whom had a gun—forced their way inside of her vehicle, Chitwood said. They made the woman move to the back seat and drove her around Philadelphia for hours, police said. One by one, the men took turns in the back seat, forcing the victim to perform sex acts, even after she repeatedly vomited on them, according to court documents.

Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson delivers a baby girl in the US

Mercy and her baby

Nigeria’s Mercy Johnson’s new baby girl delivered at about 1pm Nigerian time today in a private hospital in the United States of America, has stirred web interest, with Mercy’s colleagues and fans sending congratulatory messages to the actress on the social media.

National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima, believes that God decided to console the industry with the baby. “We lost some key members this year, but see how God has rewarded us? I’m extremely happy about this.”

Mercy’s publicist, Samuel Olatunji of Bigsam Media said that the actress and her baby will take time to relax in America before coming back to Nigeria.

“Yes, she was delivered of a baby girl, and both of them are in a good condition. But they will relax for some weeks before returning to Nigeria,” he said.

The photo of the baby and her proud mum has been posted on Mercy Johnson’s online celebrity magazine, www.mercyjohnson.com. The site has over 68, 000 followers on Facebook. The post already attracted over 800 comments, few minutes after the arrival of the baby was announced.

Mercy, who has been in America for over a month now, got married to Prince Odianose Okogie in 2011 under controversial circumstances.

Robbery suspect narrowly escapes lynching

In an attempt to escape arrest by a team of policemen on patrol on the LASU-Isheri Expressway on Wednesday, a robbery suspect, Godwin Ibe, narrowly escaped death in the hands of a mob in Lagos.

Ibe, 29, was apprehended by some members of the Odua People’s Congress keeping the watch in the neighbourhood, in a manner that was reminiscent of the Aluu killings, at about 6 am with a shotgun and four live cartridges allegedly found on him.

Some moments before he was caught with the weapon, policemen patrolling the expressway had demanded to know the contents of the polythene bag in his possession. But scared that he might be discovered, he beat a hasty retreat and took to his heels.

CRIME DIGEST learnt that in order to prevent him from escaping, the patrolmen raised the alarm and followed him in a hot chase.

The sound of running feet attracted the attention of the resident OPC vigilante group. The latter joined in the chase and eventually caught up with the fleeing suspect.

But Ibe denied ownership of the gun found in his possession. In an interview with CRIME DIGEST, he said, “I came to that area in the morning at the behest of Moses, who is a friend of mine and a fellow armed robber.

Covenant University expels 200 students for not attending Church service

About 200 students may have been expelled by the authorities of Covenant University, Cannanland, Ota, Ogun State, recently for what was described as “disregard of paramount core values.”

Frustrated and angered by the development, some of the affected students who gave account of what happened battled emotions while narrating their situations to Saturday Vanguard recently. They however pleaded with the school authorities to tamper justice with mercy in order to save their future.

Saturday Vanguard investigation revealed that out of the figure, about 126 were expelled for not attending the ‘departure service’, meant to sign off from the school after the end of the Semester and Matriculation of students on November 30. Five other students were thrown out for smoking while unconfirmed source said additional 60 got the same fate for violating other rules bordering on the University’s core values. A few others were given four weeks suspension for failure to sign the head count that was conducted a couple of weeks earlier.

A letter of expulsion signed by the Registrar, Ntia Ubong, a copy which was made available to Saturday Vanguard stated that the affected students contravened Chapter 1, section 30, page 40 of the 2010-2014 Student Handbook.

We gathered that the massive expulsion was predicated on the anger of the Chancellor, Bishop David Oyedepo who was said to have been infuriated after seeing students loitering around when they were supposed to be at the Chapel for the Departure Service.

He was said to have personally chased students to the Chapel and ordered for a search into all the halls and colleges to fish out those who did not attend the service.

Several attempts to get the school authorities comment on the issue proved abortive. The Instituion’s Corporate Affairs Head, Mr Igban Emmaunel also refused to comment as calls pulled through to him were unanswered and text messages not replied.

How it happened

A few of the affected students gave account of what happened to Saturday Vanguard at different points. The similar accounts go thus: “On November 30, the last day of the semester, preceding our December break, there was also a Matriculation for the 100 level students; in fact some students had their last semester exams on that day, some of them finished around 3:00pm while the matriculation started around 8am. Some students retired to their rooms to relax while some engaged in some other activities jubilating the end of the semester.

Obama signs a rare private bill to grant Nigerian student U.S. permanent residency

Victor Chukwueke (second from the left) is shown with his surgeon, Dr. Ian Jackson, the doctor's wife and the nun who has cared for him since he came to the United States.

A Nigerian immigrant's dream came true when President Barack Obama signed into law a rare private bill granting him permanent residency in the Unites States.

Victor Chukwueke, who lives in Michigan on an expired visa, came to the United States 11 years ago to undergo treatment for massive face tumors.

He graduated from a university in the state, and plans to attend an Ohio medical school that requires him to have permanent residency, also known as a green card.

In a rare act, the United States Congress passed a private bill this month granting him permanent residency. Obama signed the bill Friday.

Private bills -- which only apply to one person and mostly focus on immigration -- are rarely approved. His is the only one to pass in Congress in two years.

"I was overwhelmed with joy; it was nothing less than a miracle," the 26-year-old says. "Only in this country can so many miraculous and wonderful things happen to someone like me."

Before coming to the United States at age 15, Chukwueke lived in the southeastern Nigeria town of Ovim.

He suffers from neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes massive life-threatening tumors on his face.

Treated as an outcast because of his deformed face, he was depressed and humiliated, he says. His family abandoned him at an orphanage after taking him to the nation's best facilities for treatment.

Obasanjo Jokes About Fire Accident...'It Only Beautifies The House!'

Former President Obasanjo simply joked over the fire incident. The journalists who expected a briefing from former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the cause of the fire at his house got a shock as the former leader instead joked over the incident.

After newspapers broke the story of the fire, Mr. Obasanjo started receiving phone calls from sympathisers, and welcomed the ones who rushed to the Abeokuta residence, the former president asked to meet with the few journalists present at the scene. The briefing by the former president was expected to dwell on the cause of the fire, which was put out by officials of the fire service. Instead, Mr. Obasanjo decided to make jest about the fire.

Speaking in Yoruba language, the former President told journalists to go to town and sing about the fire. "Go, go and sing to the whole world that "the Kings house that is gutted by fire only beautifies the house," - the former president said.

While journalists expected him to continue, Mr. Obasanjo simply dismissed the journalists after the statement. The former president’s hilltop mansion in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, was gutted by fire for over 30 minutes on Thursday before officials of the fire service put out the fire. Though no official cause has been given for the fire, it is supposed that the fire started from Mr. Obasanjo’s private office, a stone throw to his bedroom, before the security in the premises raised alarm, and the state fire service was contacted.

Obasanjo’s Abeokuta Mansion on Fire

The house located in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, was gutted by fire on Thursday with extensive damages recorded in the 30-minute incident. The fire, which started at about 4.25 p.m., was traced to electricity power surge, just barely about 20 minutes after Mr. Obasanjo left for his other house located in the Ita-Eko area of the town.
It was gathered that the fire started from Mr. Obasanjo’s private office, a stone throw to his bedroom, before the security in the premises raised alarm, and the state fire service was contacted.
The fire service, in a swift response, raced to the scene with two fire fighting vehicles, to curtail the fire, which would have spread to other apartments.
No life was lost, but some damaged property were seen being moved out by men of the fire service and officers of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
As at the time of this report, Mr. Obasanjo had returned home, apparently to see the extent of the damage. His wife, Bola Obasanjo, was seen outside in company of some grandchildren looking worried. On his part, Mr. Obasanjo, after the fire had been put under control, was seen sitting within the premises receiving telephone calls from sympathizers.
However, one of his sons, identified as Oba Obasanjo, threw caution to the wind, as he seized the Blackberry phone of one of the correspondent and smashed it on the floor for taking photographs.
Symphatisers that thronged the home of the former President include the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye; a factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Dipo Odujinrin; and the state’s Director of State Security Services. Ironically, an hour after the fire incident was brought under control, the officials of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, arrived in two pick-up vans loaded with ladders.
The former President is expected to address journalists on the cause of the fire.
Located along the Ibrahim Babangida Boulevard in Abeokuta, the multi-millionaire villa, made up of about six structures, was completed shortly before Mr. Obasanjo left office in 2007. It was constructed by Messrs Gitto Construzioni Generali Nigeria Limited, an Abuja-based Italian company. It was built atop a hill, some critics said, to give the former president the psychological feeling of being on top of everyone.

United States To Send Soldiers To Tackle Boko Haram

A U.S. Army brigade will begin sending small teams into as many as 35African nations early next year, part of an intensifying Pentagon effort to train countries to battle extremists and give the U.S. a ready and trained force to dispatch to Africa if crises requiring the U.S. military emerge.

boko-15

The teams will be limited to training and equipping efforts, and will not be permitted to conduct military operations without specific, additional approvals from the secretary of defense.

The sharper focus on Africa by the U.S. comes against a backdrop of widespread insurgent violence across North Africa, and as the African Union and other nations discuss military intervention in northern Mali.

The terror threat from al-Qaida linked groups in Africa has been growing steadily, particularly with the rise of the extremist Islamist sect Boko Haram in Nigeria. Officials also believe that the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, which killed the ambassador and three other Americans, may have been carried out by those who had ties to al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb.

This first-of-its-kind brigade assignment — involving teams from the 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division — will target countries such as Libya, Sudan, Algeria and Niger, where al-Qaida-linked groups have been active. It also will assist nations like Kenya and Uganda that have been battling al-Shabab militants on the front lines in Somalia.

Gen. Carter Ham, the top U.S. commander in Africa, noted that the brigade has a small drone capability that could be useful in Africa. But he also acknowledged that he would need special permission to tap it for that kind of mission.

“If they want them for (military) operations, the brigade is our first sourcing solution because they’re prepared,” said Gen. David Rodriguez, the head of U.S. Army Forces Command. “But that has to go back to the secretary of defense to get an execute order.”

Already the U.S. military has plans for nearly 100 different exercises, training programs and other activities across the widely diverse continent. But the new program faces significant cultural and language challenges, as well as nagging questions about how many of the lower-level enlisted members of the brigade, based in Fort Riley, Kan., will participate, since the teams would largely be made up of more senior enlisted troops and officers. A full brigade numbers about 3,500, but the teams could range from just a few people to a company of about 200. In rare cases for certain exercises, it could be a battalion, which would number about 800.

Facebook friends slam President Jonathan over Christmas message

President Goodluck Jonathan came under criticism from his Facebook friends on Tuesday after he posted his Christmas message on the social networking site.

The President in the message said he “personally” instructed government officials to make conditions favourable for Nigerians to celebrate the Yuletide.

The airports, he said, for instance, had been given a “facelift”, adding that the terminals were rehabilitated and the runways upgraded ahead of the festive season.

He wrote, “I want to seize this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance. I feel the pains of Nigerians and that is why this Yuletide I have personally instructed that our roads be worked on to enable you and your loved ones to travel safely for the holidays.

“Not done, we ensured that for the first time in decades, the cross country services (Lagos to Kano with stops in cities along the route) of the Nigerian Railway Corporation were revived just prior to the holidays to provide Nigerian masses with an inexpensive alternative to road and air transportation.

“This administration also took steps to increase power generation by remaining true to the Timelines of the Roadmap to Power Sector Reform, which has seen history made on Friday, December 21, when Nigeria’s power generation hit an all-time high of just over 4,500 MW.”

But no sooner had Jonathan posted the message on his wall than it was greeted with a barrage of criticisms from his friends.

While a few praised and advised the President on how to tackle the problems bedevilling the country, many others faulted his submissions.

One of his friends, Kaycee Aloy-Obi wrote, “Mr. President hold your greetings. You and your family are having great celebration. A litre of petrol is sold at N110-N120, against N97 which is the official price. There is unprecedented traffic jam on Ore-Benin road due to bad roads.

“People cannot go around to visit love ones because of insecurity. Bury your head in shame with your 4,500 MW when South Africa is generating 50,000 MW. It is paradoxical that many Nigerians are having dry Christmas in midst of plenty.”

Yusuf Suleiman, asked the president to match his words with actions, adding that his “advisers are not telling you the true picture of what is happening.”

He said, “In Nigeria today, under your watch, the country recorded the highest looting of our treasury, and you didn’t do anything. We also have seen how citizens were massacred, in fact, the highest since civil war ended (and) your government is not doing enough to stop that.”

Also, Bethel Vincent, wrote, “Haba! Mr. President, you know say lie no good at all. Why post something we have not witnessed, yet you refer to us as friends and fellow Nigerians. As I am talking to you, my flat is running on generator; Benin-Auchi road is filled with potholes and you are talking about airport, how (many) Nigerians can afford air transport?”

A friend, Ajoba David, wrote, “Sir, congratulations! Merry Christmas and a happy new year. What do we expect as a New Year gift come Tuesday, January 1st? Well, I hope it is not going to be another fuel subsidy razzmatazz like we experienced last year.

“Nevertheless, Nigerians have yet to recuperate from the fever that was injected into their veins last January as a result of the purportedly and verbally(sic) removal of the fuel subsidy which Nigerians have yet to see any sign of seriousness in bringing (those) culpable to book.”

Six Killed at Christmas Church Service

Kano – Gunmen attacked a church in northern Nigeria during a midnight mass on Christmas Eve, killing six people including the pastor, before setting the building ablaze, residents and police said Tuesday.

"A group of gunmen came into the village at midnight and went straight to the church," said Usman Mansir, a resident of Peri village near Potiskum, the economic capital of Yobe state.

"They opened fire on them, killing the pastor and five worshippers. They then set fire to the church," he added, specifying that a branch of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) was targetted.

A senior police official in Yobe confirmed the details, but declined to be named.

The head of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Yobe, Idi Garba, told AFP that many worshippers at ECWA "are still missing."

"I have been informed that six bodies have been recovered," Garba said, adding that some who lived near the church "fled their homes during the attack and it is assumed that they are still hiding in the bush."

Residents reported that the gunmen also set fire to several of the homes surrounding the church.

Yobe police chief Sanusi Rufa’i said "this is a security issue" and refused to comment further.

Boko Haram Islamists have carried out several attacks in Yobe, which borders the state of Maiduguri, where the insurgent group is based.

The Islamists are blamed for killing hundreds of people in northern Nigeria since 2009. It was not clear who was behind the latest violence.

While Yobe’s population is overwhelmingly Muslim, the commercial hub of Potiskum has a significant Christian minority. Peri is just two kilometres outside the city.

It could be recalled that yesterday, Dec. 24, in his traditional Christmas message from the Vatican, Pope Benedict XVI prayed for "concord in Nigeria, where savage acts of terrorism continue to reap victims, particularly among Christians".

Choosing The Right Accessories For Your Body Shape

Accessories For Your Body Shape

Accessories are the icing on the cake, the fudge sauce on the ice cream, the cherry on top. Which is not to suggest that they’re sugary substances that whilst yummy will inevitably make you fat. Accessories are the finishing touches to an outfit. From the little extra bling that makes a simple outfit rock to a fantastic pair of earrings that draws a dozen compliments accessories are an integral part of every outfit.
And much more importantly when you’re stying your body shape accessories are your very good friend.

The following is a list of accessories:
  • Handbags
  • Hats, including tiaras
  • Hair clips
  • Necklaces
  • Earrings
  • Rings
  • Bangles
  • Scarves
  • Belts
  • Tights
  • Whatever additional extras you can think of…
Shoes are not just an accessory. They are make or break items for every outfit and never just a finishing touch.

ACCESORIES FOR YOUR BODY SHAPE:
Accessories are like everything else that you wear; they create optical illusions on your body. When choosing accessories your first choice is always going to be “do I totally love this accessory” followed by “does it suit me”. Most of us judge by looking in a mirror whether or not something suits us but what you’re really looking at is the optical illusion that an item has on your body. Sometimes it works and does wonderful things and sometimes, well, not so much.
The key is knowing about your shape and knowing what illusions work for, and against, your particular shape. And of course what it is that you’re trying to project.
With accessories there are two things to look for: 1) the size of your body and 2) where the item draws attention.

THE SIZE OF YOUR BODY
Let’s take for an example a handbag.
If you’re a tiny little thing and you add a huge handbag to your outfit what it’s going to do is highlight the fact that your body is tiny in comparison. This may not be a problem for you, but if you’re trying to give the impression of confident-business-women you may end up looking more like young-girl-borrowed-mothers-bag.
The same works if your body is bigger. A tiny little bag will highlight the fact that the body against which it is framed is much bigger than the bag. Again this may not be an issue for you. If you’re looking at an outfit and trying to see what feels off it can very much be that it makes you feel bigger than what you actually are.
So a good rule of thumb is to match your accessories to your body size. For example, if you have slender wrists, big chunky bracelets will highlight that. If you have short stubby fingers a big chunky ring will highlight that.

WHERE DOES THE ITEM DRAW ATTENTION
Lets again take the handbag.
Say you’re a pear shape and your hips and bottom are an area you’re trying to draw attention away from. Then a messenger bag worn crossed over your chest and nestling comfortably on your hip is going to draw attention to your hips. A better option hobo or a satchel worn over your shoulder sitting under your arm which is then going to draw attention to your tiny waist.
So here is where accessories really shine. What are you trying to do with your shape?
Are you highlighting your waist – look for a belt that sits exactly on your waist and draws attention to it (beware the issue of breaking up long lines if you’re larger).
Are you minimising your hips – load up the jewellery on your top half. Find a big necklace that sits right where you want eyes to be drawn and wear it with attitude.
Are you highlighting your legs – get some fabulous sexy tights.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
Working with accessories is very much a trial and error thing for most women but well worth doing, particularly as accessories will usually be the way that you start developing your own personal style.
Buy lots and work them with your current wardrobe. It’s a lot cheaper than buying clothes for most items. It’s also a fantastic way to take advantage of trends without shelling out a lot of money for something that’s only going to last a season.
Most of all, notice what you love, what you wear often, and have a good look at why.
Good shopping!

Conduct Of Virginity Test By Principal Attracts Public Outrage

The virginity test conducted on the pupils of Ajuwon Senior High School, Ajuwon, Ogun State by their Principal, Rev. Olufunke Oladeojobi, has continued to attract public outrage

Doctors, lawyers and human rights activists who spoke with PUNCH Metro on Wednesday and Thursday condemned Oladeojobi’s action and described it as an “assault” on the pupils.

They called on the law enforcement agents to ensure that the matter was not swept under the carpet, insisting that the case be properly investigated and the motive behind her action was ascertained.

Principal’s action medically wrong –Doctor
Senior Registrar Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Dr. Taiwo Gbenga, said the action of the principal “was not only morally wrong but medically incongruent.”

Gbenga said nobody had the right to conduct such a test on females, adding that virginity test was “not part of routine medical examination.”

The doctor said, “The action of the school principal and the nurse which culminated into dipping fingers into the pupils’ private parts is medically wrong.

“Even if patients present diseases related to virginal discharge, we (doctors) don’t have the right to start dipping hands into their private parts as it amounts to undue invasion of their privacy.

“The best we do is to conduct a rectal examination which is done through the anus or better still put them in a position whereby we can make our expert observation.”

Gbenga said the bleeding by the pupils might have been caused by broken hymen, adding that they had also been exposed to the risk of infection.

He said, “Those pupils need urgent medical attention as we are not sure if gloves were used during the test.

“Even if gloves were used, another source of concern is if the gloves used were sterile. The girls may contract infections through the use of non-sterile gloves.”

Oladeojobi’s conduct is actionable – Lawyers
Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja branch, Mr. Monday Ubani, expressed shock at the incident and called for Oladeojobi’s prosecution for indecent assault.

He said, “The principal has made those pupils to undergo unwarranted psychological trauma and pains. The police should diligently do their job and get to the root of the matter.

“The excuse that medical tests and examination were not carried out immediately on the affected pupils as soon as the incident happened should not be taken as an excuse to make her escape justice.

“The police should charge her to court as soon as investigations are concluded and allow the court to decide her fate.”

Lagos-based human rights lawyer, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, described the principal’s action as “bestial” adding that by her action she had inadvertently “defiled” the pupils.

He said, “These pupils we are talking about are minors, whose rights are fully protected under the laws of the land. She has not only assaulted them, but she has succeeded in raping, battering and defiling them.”

President Women Arise, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, said the principal’s act was barbaric, callous, unethical, discriminatory, as well as an abuse of authority.

She said, “The principal has simply imposed her private moral principles on those placed under her watch and this is a serious breach of the pupils’ right.

Principal quizzed for conducting virginity tests on pupils

Principal, Ajuwon Senior High School, Ajuwon, Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun State, Rev. Olufunke Oladeojobi, has been quizzed by the police for allegedly conducting virginity tests on the pupils.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Oladeojobi, who was described as a strict disciplinarian, by her pupils called in a nurse and jointly carried out virginity tests on a group of 10 students last week Monday.

It was further learnt that the principal did not seek the consent of the parents/guardians of the pupils before conducting the test on Senior Secondary School 1 pupils.

During the test, it was alleged that the principal and the nurse whose name could not be ascertained allegedly dipped their fingers into the pupils’ private parts.

After the exercise, which took place at the principal’s office, each of the pupils was given an exercise book.

A 15-year-old pupil, who identified herself simply as Ayo, said the principal came into the classroom on the day and announced that all female SSS 1 pupils should converge on the assembly ground.

She said the principal subsequently asked that those who had yet to lose their virginity should stand apart.

Ayo said, “We are over 600 in SSS 1 but only about 300 of us are females. Those of us that are virgins are 38 and we were matched into the principal’s office with the assistance of members of staff.

“They subsequently divided us into three groups of 10, 15 and 13 and I was in the second group. The principal later addressed us and threatened that any pupil who fails the test would have her name written in the school’s black book and would be suspended.”

"My Wife Never Allowed Me To Make Love to Her," Man Tells Court, Demands N1.2m Refund From Wife's Parents

Malam Mukailu Naibi of Keke Village, Kaduna, whose wife allegedly starved him of sex for two years, on Wednesday demanded N1,2 million as compensation from the wife’s parents before an Abuja Area Court.

Naibi, while testifying at the resumed hearing of the case, told the court that the amount covered the bride price he paid before marrying Maryam, his wife.

He also told the court that the amount covered the cost of damages done to the house after Maryam allegedly set the house on fire before fleeing to court to seek divorce.

He tendered written documents with records of all expenses made on his estranged wife and her parents, in addition to a witness to testify in his favour.

Naibi, aged 37, had told the court that his wife had refused to make love to him since they got married two years ago.

He also accused her of setting their house on fire.

"Your Worship, since we got married two years ago, my wife never allowed me to make love to her for once and all my attempts to do it always led to fighting.

"I married her out of love and I still love her, but with this development, I have no choice but to ask the court to grant her divorce wish for the sake of peace,'' Naibi said.

In her testimony, Maryam, who is 16, told the court that her husband made love to her once, but that she was not impressed and so she wanted a divorce.

"I don’t love him, I don’t love anybody who bears his name and I hate anybody who loves him,'' she told the court.

Maryam’s mother who was her only witness, while having denied most of Naibi’s claims, still admitted some, saying that Maryam’s father was in a better position to clarify some issues.

The Judge, Haruna Masanawa, after hearing all the submissions of the parties in the case, ordered the court's registrar to summons more witnesses, including Maryam’s father.

He adjourned the case to Jan. 16, 2013 for further hearing.

Mystery: Nigerian Student Schooling In Ghana Cuts Off Manhood & Swallows It

Was he under a spell? Or is he suffering from some form of mental or psychological trauma? The questions are many on the lips and minds of many who heard the news of a Nigerian student (names withheld) enrolled in one of the numerous tertiary institutions in Ghana who sliced off and swallowed his man-hood penultimate Friday.

ghananigeriaflag
Although the details are sketchy aa to what led the 25-year-old student to chop-off and literally ingest his manhood but we gathered that he is currently on admission at one of Ghana’s teaching hospitals.

Already hunger has been ruled out going by the average cost (over N900,000) of tuition per academic session for foreign students in a Ghanian university; because if his parents could pay his fees for studying in Ghana, that should mean they could afford it as well as cater for the needs of their son.

The student who hails from Zaria, Kaduna State has already been visited in hospital by the Consular Officer at Nigeria’s mission in the Ghanaian capital, Mr. Andrew Idi and other officials of the Nigerian High Commission Accra.

The student told them during the visit that he believed he was under a spell, when he carried out the bizarre act.

Nigerian Woman, Modupe Adunni Martin Jailed For Fraud After Public Sex Romp Exposes Her Fakery

A sex romp at a public park helped prosecutors convict Modupe Adunni Martin of faking an ankle injury to collect workers' compensation payments, authorities said.

A sex romp at a public park helped prosecutors convict a California woman of faking an ankle injury to collect workers' compensation payments, authorities said.

Modupe Adunni Martin, 29, was sentenced to nine months in jail on Thursday in San Mateo County after pleading no contest in October to felony workers compensation fraud.

Martin was caught on videotape in August 2009 throwing her crutches into a car and running in high heels to meet her boyfriend at a public park, where she took part in a sex act that doctors concluded she couldn't have done with an injured ankle, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

She was arrested and charged with 10 counts of insurance fraud.

"I guess love just helps one get over injuries," Wagstaffe said in a phone interview on Friday.

Martin reported the injury in February 2009 while working as a janitor for the Sequoia Union High School District.

Claiming the injury left her unable to walk, Martin made 10 visits to doctors over a three-month span. A co-worker suspected she was exaggerating and alerted the district, which advised investigators.

Martin was taken into custody after sentencing. A call to her attorney, Emily Andrews, by The Associated Press was not immediately returned.

Martin was also sentenced to 3 years of supervised probation and ordered to pay more than $79,000 in restitution.
